a bandit gang writ large warning the wire spoilers within

fig23a you can sleep easy

"Without justice, what are kingdoms but great robber bands? What are robber bands but small kingdoms? The band itself is made up of men, is ruled by the command of a leader, and is held together by a social pact. Plunder is divided in accordance with an agreed upon law."
- St Augustine

fig23b roberts rules say we gotta have minutes

"This is a court of law, young man, not a court of justice."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr

fig23c many ways to play the game

"The state calls its own violence law, but that of the individual crime."
- Max Stirner

fig23d quiet violence in the merikan desert

"I have my own army in the NYPD - the seventh largest army in the world."
- Mayor Michael Bloomberg

fig23e military surplus for the war on terror or immigrants or whatever

"So these villains, who call themselves governments, well understand that their power rests primarily upon money. With money they can hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort money. And, when their authority is denied, the first use they always make of money is to hire soldiers to kill or subdue all those who refuse them more money."
- Lysander Spooner

fig23f cmon books are you really gonna go there - yeah i went there

"For if the bulk of the public were really convinced of the illegitimacy of the state, if it were convinced that the state is nothing more nor less than a bandit gang writ large, then the state would soon collapse to take on no ore status or breadth of existence than another mafia gang."
- Murray Rothbard

fig23g once theyve stopped working for the state theyre just dudes with a sweet ride

"Politics would be a helluva good business if it weren't for the goddamned people."
- Richard M. Nixon

fig23h damn people think they can just use their own bridges whenever they feel like it

"Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons, and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim - when he defends himself - as a criminal."
- Frederic Bastiat

fig23i stop resisting

"You may think you belong to a big gang, you may be 50 people, even 100, but we have 32,000 in our gang. It's called the metropolitan police."
- Chief Inspector Ian Kibblewhite

fig23j see also a list of countries by size of police force
surely there is data to be considered here

"There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice."
- Charles De Montesquieu

news from across the pond

theres a great occupation
going on in sussex

you wont hear about it yet
in mainstream merika news
if ever
because occupations
are like
so 2011

& foreign news is meaningless
unless someone is blowing
up merikans

but once again id like
to point out
the loverly bbcs take
or well
supt grenville wilson
of what i can only assume
is the sussex pd

when officers arrived at Sussex House there was some resistance to their pressure and some coins were thrown.... At this point force could have been used, such as batons, by the officers but a decision was made for officers to step back from the situation for the safety of the protesters....

hot damn if that aint

fig14a serving & protecting the shit out of you

no felony
no assault charge

so lets talk about
authorized use of force
because writing the law
& carrying out its letters
entirely different

"reasonable to kick a hypothetical suspect who was already on the ground"
"the short answer is yes"

oh good
no one wanted to hear the long
answer anyway probably too many
words

heres where it gets good

if a crowd has gathered

faster the crowd will dissipate
risk of the suspect getting help from the crowd

exigency revealed

dorners not just mad
about getting fired & crazy

in a typically blind pro-cop
american media sort of way
they skirt around the fact he was fired
for ratting
on corruption

as much as you can avoid
corruption and racism
when talking about
the lapd

so bad
that when this happens
chief beck has to come on tv
say hell reopen the case

it takes this

we can take for granted
that dorner is insane yeah
that manifesto breaks down halfway

starts talking to tebow
shout outs to hillary clinton
like hes won the oscar
for best mass murderer

shit
hes got the worlds attention
he knows it
they always know it

fig9a we are naturally familiar with this concept

be easy to blame the media
but more accurate
to note how media & manifestation
of violent insanity
have this lewd public relationship

capitalism consumer capitalism
birthing its own monsters

imperialism too
veteran turned cop

navy sharpshooter
eight times decorated

talks about values he learned

fig9b value added to a product by military labor

i am a walking exigent circumstance

may or may not be so
while i write this theyre still
poking the remains of the compound

compound being the word

going on undermining their cred
hurting more people
or
they do stop him

they need to save

irregardless

apocalyptic
look at the way the cops
shot at innocent people
barricaded a truck unrelated to the case
it looks bad

fig9c necessary on so many levels

it looks really bad

this would be a wakeup moment
an enlightenment
if we can tune out the news
and listen to our gut our instinct

we all knew
dorner was only a matter of time

hyping up the dramatic parts
leaving out the backstory
media has the gall to come at this
all surprisedlike

so most of us will stay in the trance
nobody saw this coming?
are you kidding?

this isnt the beginning
this isnt even the end

fig9d what is violence? whateven is mental health?

we dont have
collective cognitive framework
for whatevers going on
much less

meditation re gun control

eclecticbreakfast once again hosts
a good meditation
re the worship
of the self vs the state

which to a reply is penned

there is of course no such thing
as the state
nothing you can point to
say there it is

there is a collection of very nice buildings
some
mostly old white male
people
engaged in a widely reported
ritualized charade
an immense labor structure
stamps bells & whistles
that command respect
lotta land & investments
financial legal &c

a devoted apparatus of force
backing it up

but at the end of the day
consensual adherence
to useful fiction
for capital

individuality
is a little more tangible
because of the body
the ego is notably more concrete
though it too
does not stand
up well to intense scrutiny

family is a hereditary arrangement
its story more immediate

community is just
family neighbors businesses

it is reactive
to value these things instead
of the state
because they predate
the state
it is progressive
to value these things instead
because they move us away
from the states
totalitizing

state monopoly on violence
it can sanction its own use
of force
individual family community
excluded from participating

question of trust
trust in god
becomes
trust in the state

from the framework
alternatives boil down
i only trust people of my community
blood is thicker than water
the only person who has my back is me

question of loss
of trust
look at the trust the state
loses in we the people
formerly constituents
CCTV
militarization of police
increased rules regulations
loss of common space

vicious circle

question of domination
along & within question of survival
any incarnation of the state
must dominate to survive
mubaraks al-assads withstanding
whatever it takes
other governments would do the same
i am the state

obsession can be fascistic - at bottom of the urge to clarify things is the impulse to dominate

postmarxist critique re transformative justice

i spent a number of years in a marxist organization

i have a number of proleftist critiques & contributions

fig4a howtodifferently

the first is most specific & important
a spectacle whichin i participated
first in a showtrial
then in very poor reaction
a good friend introduced me
to the concept of transformative justice
which i think
essential not just to aiding
victims of sexual assault
on the left
& elsewhere

but to confronting this beast
called capitalism
a system of dehumanization

& move to recognize
humanness
in oppressor oppressed
alike

handle things
in a delicate nurturing energetic way

that maps a new route
to confrontation
with the mechanizing monster
which would make
rote of our flesh

a squalor of hypnotism and violation

and look instead
for the way
that there might be hope
for us all

you cant compete with the state they have guns

one of my goals for this year is to finish at least volume two of capital by karl marx.

the introduction by ernest mandel has so far been one of the most revealing & compelling parts of this book
it presents the weapon manufacturing industry as the tireless backbone of capitalism

meaning when all other industries fail there will always be a market for weapons

meaning capitalism will never fail entirely with this basis in existence

there will "always" be state & private markets for weapons

the state has a monopoly on violence -
this is part of the marxist definition of the state
even violence against wild animals has to be state sanctioned in industrialized nations

marxism broadly reflects that in the absence of a final
crisis
meaning no natural death for capitalism or the state
armed insurrection illegal violence
is the only method for packing it away once & for all

kind of goofy to try to beat it at its own game

the state will always resort to violence when it has to in order to get people to behave the right way

& snever the white collars who wear the nooses in mass

even with dedicated leadership the strongest armed insurrections can only wreak so much change for so long

because violence has to do with coercion & power paradigms & competition

so those are the paradigms that need to be challenged usurped & changed
